This FAQ was assembled in response to questions we have been asked by FSBO sellers regarding our free listing program. Its purpose is to clarify the details of the program itself, as well as explain our motivations for doing it. If anything is unclear or confusing, please let us know so we can refine our explanation.

Why are you giving away online listings for free?
We have been asked this by quite a few FSBO sellers, so we feel that it is best to address the question up front. We have also been asked "how do you make money doing this?" The answer is: we don't. However, we do benefit significantly in other ways by giving away free listings. By adding FSBO homes to our website, we make it a more valuable resource for buyers. It increases awareness of FSBOMetroDenver.com and its resources among both buyers and sellers. It also gives an opportunity to provide excellent service to our sellers, helping us to establish a good business reputation.
At some point in the near future, we will resume charging for all new listings (existing listings that were listed for free will still be free, of course). So, to answer the question, we are not giving away free listings to make money, we are giving them away to help establish ourselves in the local real estate market by selling FSBO homes.
What happens to my free listing once you begin charging for new listings?
Nothing. It remains on the website until your home sells, free of charge. Our free listing customers will not be charged for anything at any point.
Are the yard signs free as well?
Yes. Since we include yard signs and brochure boxes with all standard listings at no additional charge, they are included in each free listing.
Do I need to use one of your yard signs?
No, they are optional but highly recommended. They look great and are made from high-quality materials. See a picture here. The same is true for the brochure boxes. They make it easier for potential buyers to take flyers than either the thin boxes or tube designs. They also do a better job of protecting your flyers from rain or snow.
What happens to your information and resources once you begin charging?
They were designed from the beginning to be available, free of charge, to anyone who visited our website. We support all FSBO buyers and sellers so we want as many as possible to have access to the information they need to be successful.
We have been asked if we accept donations upon the sale of a home, and yes, we gladly accept donations of any size. 100% of any donation directly funds improvements to our services and advertising. This helps to ensure that our sellers who have not yet sold their homes get the most exposure possible, and that FSBOMetroDenver.com continues to increase its presence in the local market as a real alternative for home buyers and sellers.
